Health Bites of Rice


Choose brown rice because it has more vitamins and minerals than plain milled white rice, which are stripped of many of its nutrients. Brown rice is also high in oryzanol (this compound relieves menopausal hot flashes, lower cholesterol, and prevents cancer causing nitrosamines) and insoluble fiber. However in United Staes, white rice is "enriched" by adding back many of its nutrients.
