Antibiotics and Vitamin K

Most of your body's supply of vitamin K is synthesized by the friendly bacteria in your intestines. But when you take antibiotics, you increase your need for vitamin K. The antibiotics kill many of the good bacteria, and as a result, the remaining good bacteria cannot produce adequate amounts of vitamin K.
