Citrus and Cancer
There is evidence that citrus can help reduce the risk of developing lung cancer. Consuming foods rich in beta cryptoxanthin, the orange-red carotenoids that are found in high amounts in oranges as well as corn, pumpkin, papaya, tangerines, and red bell peppers, may lower lung cancer risk.
Drinking about 2 glasses of orange juice a day, increased the vitaminc C concentrations in the blood by 40 to 60 percent.

Citrus Bioflavonoids
Oranges, tangerines, lemons, limes, yellow grapefruit, papaya, pineapple, and nectarines are rich in vitamin C and citrus bioflavonoids and protect us against free-radical damage.
Citrus bioflavonoids increase intracellular levels of vitamin C, strengthen blood vessels, and maintain the collagen that forms tendons, cartilage, and ligaments.
They prevent allergies and inflammation and have also been used to prevent and treat bruising, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, and spider veins.

Papaya may cure cancer
The papaya is gaining recognition for its anticancer powers, with a University of Florida researcher claiming that the power fruit thwarted growth of cancer cells in lab tests. University of Florida researcher Nam Dang, MD, PhD, and colleagues in Japan have documented papaya's dramatic anticancer effect against a broad range of lab-grown tumors, including cancers of the cervix, breast, liver, lung and pancreas.
The papaya extract did not have any toxic effects on normal cells, avoiding a common and devastating consequence of many cancer therapy regimens.
It is simply not called fruit of angles. So, go ahead and eat plenty of those papayas!!
